Free final FRCA Viva revision course for Imperial School trainees

6th May 2017, 13th May 2017, 20th May 2017, 27th May 2017, 3rd June 2017, 10th June 2017

This is a free course, run for Imperial trainees who are preparing to take the Final FRCA SOE, and comprises structured oral viva sessions covering long and short cases, in addition to basic sciences. It is run by Imperial School of Anaesthesia Consultants and ST5-7 Registrars on Saturday mornings at Charing Cross Hospital.

The course objectives are:

  • To improve viva technique (rather than knowledge) required for the Final FRCA SOE e.g. structure, paraphrasing, body language, posture etc.
  • To introduce you to colleagues at different hospitals who you can practice with away from the course.
  • To give appropriate and relevant feedback to participants.
  • To allow you the opportunity to ask questions to assist you with your exam preparation.

Timetable & Venue:
The SOE examinations take place in the week beginning Monday 19th June 2017. We aim to provide up to 6 sessions running up to this week depending on demand. Provisionally these dates are as below. Sessions are held between 10:30 to 12:30 in the anaesthetics seminar room &/or anaesthetics library on the 13th floor of Charing Cross Hospital. Please contact us if you are unsure where this is.

How to get on the course:
Please apply by emailing with the dates you would like to attend. The application deadline for the next course is Monday 24th April 2017. We will email you to get some brief details, and then confirm your attendance at allocated sessions – we expect to be able to offer 2-4 sessions each depending on numbers.
