MEPA for Trainees December 17th 2019 Great Ormond Street Hospital

Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia (MEPA) is a single day course designed to equip anaesthetists with strategies for dealing with important emergencies in paediatric anaesthesia. The course is run in our high-fidelity simulation centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital, one of the leading centres for child healthcare in the world. Facilitated by experienced paediatric anaesthetists, the course provides a comprehensive update in paediatric anaesthesia and resuscitation.

We run both MEPA for trainees (MEPA-T) and MEPA for consultants (MEPA-FC) courses at Great Ormond Street and both are approved for 5 CPD points by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Although similar in structure, each courses is designed for your level of knowledge and experience. We run 7 scenarios per course, each followed by a debrief and short presentation of the key learning points. All the scenarios we use are evidence based and have been ratified by the MEPA group.

MEPA-T is aimed at intermediate, higher and advanced level anaesthesia trainees and will cover many of the topics and competencies in your paediatric training curriculum. Each course has a maximum of 7 candidates and costs £95 (this includes refreshments and lunch).
